PolaOptix authentication features are embedded directly into novel materials in the authentication label using controlled laser writing.
These features are covert, but can be revealed by a specialised hand-held reader creating a unique optical response that can be used for tracing and verifying the authenticity of the product.
Unlike many security features that rely on visible graphics or digital identifiers, PolaOptix authentication is based on the invisible to the naked eye optical behaviour of the novel materials used in the label.
Verification
Authentication is performed by a specialised hand-held reader, connected to a database for analysing the resulting optical response.
A genuine item produces a response that matches the expected optical signature.
Development Status
PolaOptix technology has been demonstrated at TRL6, and is currently being prepared for pilot integration with industry partners.
We are exploring collaborations with manufacturers, brand owners, and technology partners interested in secure product authentication.
